2013 Chablis: Living on the Edge (Aug 2014)

The 2013 Chablis Bougros Côte Bouguerots is another of the more reticent wines in this range of 2013s. Bright, piercing citrus notes are followed by a bevy of slate, smoke, dried pear and savory herb overtones. Crystalline, pure and constantly changing in the glass, the Côte Bouguerots possesses tons of complexity and pedigree all the way through to the tense, energetic finish. The 2013 needs time to come together, but there is a lot to look forward to. This very steep site produces distinct wines full of personality.
