Chablis 2011 and 2010 (Jul 2012)

(one-third of this wine was aged in barrels): Bright pale straw with a green tinge. Classic Chablis aromas and flavors of pear, underripe pineapple and minerals. A step up in density and energy from the Fourchaume (this is carrying close to 4.3 grams acidity), but youthfully reticent in spite of its smooth texture and felicitous balance. Dry, broad, serious wine with a persistent, saline aftertaste. This is very good.
