The 2012 Red Burgundies from Bottle (Mar 2015)

Almost roasted ripeness to the aromas of musky raspberry, pungent spices (clove, cinnamon, mace) and underbrush, plus a suggestion of chocolate I did not find in any other of DRC’s 2012s. Ripe, plush and spicy, with the raspberry character following through in the mouth; boasts superb volume given shape by a sound mineral spine and complex soil tones. Finishes with ripe, pliant tannins. I find this clearly riper than the 2013 version.
