Twenty Years that Transformed the Argentine Wine Industry (Oct 2020)

Eolo is made from grapes from an old vineyard on the shores of the Mendoza River in Vistalba, most of which spent 14 months aging in French barrels, 45% of them new, while 10% was kept in foudres. Rich purple in the glass. The oaky notes come out initially, suggesting smoke, peat, leather and tobacco leaf, followed by candied fruit, plum and a touch of violet. Concentrated in the mouth, it flows freely with fleshy, muscular but gentle tannins and a smooth texture in which the structure is wrapped in velvet. Complex and layered, this is a perfect wine for the area. Will be at its best in a year.
