2016 White Burgundy: Excellent, But Complicated (Sep 2018)

Bright straw-yellow. Aromas of yellow peach and spicy minerality, plus a suggestion of soft citrus fruit. The creamiest and most open-knit of these Meursault bottlings, but with no shortage of underlying acidity and minerality to buffer its sweetness. Displays the density and thickness of the vintage’s better examples but harmonious acidity gives it energy. Not the last word in finesse but boasts a lovely glyceral texture and mounts nicely on the aftertaste. I’d start drinking this wine before the Chevalières.
