The Annual Red Bordeaux Report (May 2003)

(a blend of 79% cabernet sauvignon, 15% merlot, 4% petit verdot and 2% cabernet franc) Good deep red-ruby. Musky black cherry, raspberry, leather, licorice and herbs on the slightly medicinal nose. Sweet, supple and fruity, with herbal and licorice flavors framed by brisk acidity. Distinctly peppery in the middle and on the slightly hard-edged finish. The note of finishing tartness suggests a bit of unconverted malic acidity. A rather puzzling showing for this wine. Margaux
