The 2014 White Burgundies: What’s Not To Like? (Sep 2016)

(Moreau picked his vines in Fairendes four or five days later than his parcel in La Carduse): Bright yellow. Expressive, slightly exotic scents of yellow fruits, orange and mirabelle. In a distinctly fruity style but nicely firmed and lifted by fresh acidity and rocky minerality. Shows none of the honeyed character of the Maltroie. Finishes with a hint of lemon zest and sneaky power. This energetic, nicely balanced wine should evolve gracefully in the bottle.
