2011 Bordeaux from the Bottle (Jul 2014)

(56% merlot and 44% cabernet franc): Full ruby-red. Nose dominated by blackcurrant, minerals, bitter chocolate and violet Juicy and shapely in the mouth, with a luscious texture and intense, sweet flavors of blackcurrant, blueberry, cocoa and minerals. This is much richer and fleshier than the Grand Village and has excellent concentration and depth for the vintage. Finishes with sweet tannins and noteworthy white pepper and floral persistence. The Acte wines are always the hardest to taste during the Primeurs because of their high cabernet franc content, which makes them seem austere, said Baptiste Guinaudeau.
