Herding Cats: Burgfest 2020 – The Reds (Oct 2024)

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru doesn’t have quite the delineation of Bruno Clair’s Cazetiers, maybe a touch of Brettanomyces. It’s a little sweaty, which is a pity because there’s some lovely fruit here. (I pour it into another glass, and there is some improvement). The palate is rounded with low acidity, relatively flat, and lacking vigor. Not sure how representative this is. There’s a great wine here, but this is not a great bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
