Intellect & Senses: Bordeaux With Time (Mar 2025)

The 2003 La Croix de Gay has an exotic nose with fruitcake, dark plum and honey aromas that are well defined considering the vintage. The palate is full-bodied and a little aggressive, with grippy tannins and good weight on the finish. It lacks the finesse and grace of, say, the 2000, 2001, or even the 2002. The finish is distinctly dry. Tasted June 2011. Tasting note taken from the Pomerol book by Neal Martin.
