Bordeaux 2015 At Age Ten (Jun 2025)

The 2015 Canon has a forward and comparatively opulent bouquet with licorice-tinged red fruit, though this is not necessarily the most complex compared to its peers. Hints of menthol develop with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, gentle grip, powdery texture, black pepper and cumin notes. This is a little edgy toward the finish with plenty of brown spice notes. There seems to be a decent percentage of Cabernet Franc here (29%, as it turns out). Tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting at Farr Vintners.
