Herding Cats: Burgfest 2020 – The Reds (Oct 2024)

The 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru is utterly seductive on the nose with crystalline red fruit and crushed stone, just pure Pinoté that is not as common in this vintage as others. Delectable. The palate has plenty of pure red fruit on the entry, more citrus-fresh than Camille Giroud’s Chambertin, with exquisite balance and filigree tannins. It is very pure and expressive, sensual and refined, with an intellectual aspect that keeps the taste hooked. This is an absorbing Grand Cru that will give long-term pleasure. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
