A Century of…Fours (Jun 2024)

The 2014 Pommard Clos des Epeneaux 1er Cru was Paul Zanetti’s first vintage. Apparently it took a lot of work in the vineyard affected by hail and mildew. It has a rather rustic nose, predominantly red fruit laced with mocha and leather, just missing a bit of energy and finesse. The palate is medium-bodied with granular tannins, nicely balanced and fresh on the mid-palate with a spicy and dry finish. It’s not the greatest Clos des Epeneaux, but it is drinking well now.
