2005 and 2004 Red Burgundies (Mar 2007)

(declassified Echezeaux, mostly from the younger vines) Good medium red with a palish rim. Riper on the nose than the basic village bottling, with aromas of maraschino cherry, plum, smoke and spice. Fatter and suppler than the villages, but still with a faint edge of acidity. Flavors of plum and underbrush. Possesses more volume and thrust than the village wine but will also evolve quickly. All these wines were aged in 100% new barrels.
