2000 and 1999 Red Burgundies (Mar 2002)

Deep red. Very deep nose shows an almost roasted ripeness; notes of dark fruits, chocolate and earth. The thickest and most voluminous of these ’99s, but currently showing less detail than the Volnays. Superripe and creamy, with deep, intensely spicy red and black fruit flavors and perfectly integrated acidity. Explosively long, palate-staining finish offers terrific verve and grip.
