1999 and 1998 Red Burgundies (Mar 2001)

Medium red. Aromas of redcurrant, mocha, chocolate, coffee and smoke; shows a distinctly roasted aspect. Then thick, fat and sweet; a large-scaled, three-dimensional wine with an almost saline impression of extract. Finishes with ripe, harmonious tannins and subtle length. This was even better after 24 hours in the recorked bottle.
