Burgundy With A Bit of Age: 2000-2014 (May 2019)

The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux Saint Jacques 1er Cru has an understated, clean and precise bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit, tobacco and subtle undergrowth aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with good density considering the vintage, spicy on the front palate with a healthy dash of black pepper liberally sprinkled over the finish. This is maturing with some élan in bottle. Tasted at Flint Wines Burgundy 2011 tasting.
