Le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino 2001 – 2013 (Oct 2018)

Bright red. Intense, highly perfumed aromas of red cherry, licorice, crushed stone, sage and violet. Juicy, fresh and linear on the palate, with its red fruit and herb flavors accented by a gingery spicy note. Finishes distinctly saline and very long, with nuances of tar and quinine. This lovely wine boasts plenty of early appeal, but its depth and layered texture suggest that it will age very well. Curiously enough, and in contrast to most other Montalcino estates, Le Potazzine chose not to bottle a 2010 Brunello Riserva.
