A Century of Bordeaux: The Threes (Aug 2023)

The 2013 Petit Village comes from my own cellar and is tasted to compare it with its peers. It acquits itself much better than expected. Slightly smudged, loamy and cigar box scents unfurl on the nose, and over 90 minutes, seem to gain fruit intensity. The palate could never be described as “complex”, yet it is balanced with no signs of greenness. It fades a little on the finish, but otherwise, I have no problems with this in the context of the growing season.
