2014 Bordeaux: A September Surprise (Feb 2017)

The 2014 Latour-Martillac was a much friendlier wine from barrel. Today it is compact, tightly wound and not particularly giving. Hints of smoke, tobacco, incense, leather and licorice struggle to flesh out in the glass. The attractive juiciness this wine showed in its youth has largely faded. Today, the 2014 comes across as dry, austere and lacking in depth.
