2011 Red Burgundies (Jan 2013)

Medium red. Musky red fruits, spices and earth on the nose. Supple, suave and energetic, with lovely clarity to the flavors of red cherry, raspberry and spices. Finishes with slightly drying tannins and excellent length, with a slightly medicinal aspect. I tasted both components of this wine before this representative blend, and Lot #2, made with whole clusters, was both more interesting and sappy on the nose and richer and creamier in the mouth, with more support for its tannins.
