Squares & Circles: Bordeaux ‘10 At Ten (Apr 2020)

The 2010 Domaine de Chevalier offers smudged red fruit on the nose, black cherries and crushed violet. It comes across more like a Right Bank wine. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, but it does not quite deliver the complexity and backbone to the same degree as the Les Carmes Haut-Brion or La Chapelle de la Mission tasted alongside. Not bad, but not the best in show. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal.
