1997, 1996 and 1995 Bordeaux (May 1998)

Medium red. Floral redcurrant, smoke and tobacco nose. Bright but a bit bony in the mouth, with a hint of violet; a wine of modest sweetness and ripeness but good purity of flavor. Suggestion of tart acidity. A wine for tasting and drinking with food, not for competitions, notes co-director Eric Kohler, and not necessarily fashionable today. Sometimes the somewhat green, vegetal cabernet sauvignon character is too strong for some tasters.
