Focus on Barolo and Barbaresco (Nov 2002)

(a 60/40 blend from these two vineyards) Bright medium red. Perfumed, slightly roasted yet fresh red fruit aromas. A real fruit bomb in the mouth, with juicy blackberry flavor and a surprisingly round, even silky, texture for a Rinaldi wine. This seems distinctly soft in acidity yet is still rather youthfully tight. Conveys a completely different tannic impression from the ’99 Brunate owing to its softer acids. Cannubi quickly loses acidity in the hot years, like 2000, notes Rinaldi, but the Ravera fruit always has fresher acidity.
