2006, 2005 and 2004 Bordeaux (May 2007)

Red-ruby. Black cherry, mocha, iron, licorice and exotic spices on the nose. Juicy and bright, with a slight peppery quality lifting the middle palate. Not especially fleshy or sweet but spicy and aromatic. Finishes with dusty tannins and good verve. As always, this conveys a strong impression of soil character, although from the nose alone I’d be more likely to guess Pomerol than Saint-Emilion.
