Blind Vision: 2015 Burgundy Red & White (Nov 2018)

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru seems to lack the energy of its peers, though the nose is well defined and fresh, featuring light strawberry and morello cherry aromas mixed with undergrowth. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin and well-judged acidity, but linear and conservative in some ways and missing a peacock’s-tail finish. Maybe that will develop with bottle age. Good potential but it needs several more years in bottle and just might be closing down. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
