Focus on Barolo and Barbaresco (Nov 2011)

Very dark red with ruby tones. Less expressive on the nose than the Cannubi, offering aromas of medicinal cherry, camphor and coffee. Big, rich and brooding, with strong but nicely integrated acidity showing a peppery quality and giving the wine a light touch. Revealing less detail and fruit today than the Cannubi, but this very dry Barolo is totally unevolved. Finishes with big, tongue-dusting tannins and late hints of cherry, currant and pepper.
