Dealing with the New Paradigm: Burgundy 2018 (Nov 2022)

The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is showing a little reduction on the nose, which presently keeps the fruit hemmed in. Difficult to read at the moment. The palate is quite sweet and candied on the entry, fleshy and slightly savoury in style, dried blood and black pepper. The finish feels a little dry compared to its peers but there is grip and it seems to develop energy in the glass. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.
