2001 and 2000 Red Burgundies (Mar 2003)

Medium-deep red. Musky dark fruits, coffee, cocoa powder and oak on the nose. Dense and sweet but also vinous and penetrating. Quite suave in the middle palate, with good freshness for the cave and for the year. The longest and classiest of these 2001s. The yield here was a very reasonable 38 hectoliters per hectare, notes Meunier.
