Bordeaux 2010: All That Glitters… (May 2011)

(55% merlot, 40% cabernet sauvignon and 5% malbec) Dark ruby-purple. Oaky nose offers aromas of red cherry pie and blackberry. Supple, sweet and suave, and brighter and fresher on the palate than the nose suggests, with clean flavors of blueberry, coffee and minerals. Finishes with good length and youthfully chewy tannins. Potentially the best Bouscaut of the last ten years: it may not be the last word in complexity, but this very appealing wine will offer early accessibility. Well done.
