2003 and 2002 White Burgundies (Sep 2004)

Paler yellow than the special Corton-Charlemagne. Aromas of peach, lemon, spices, flowers and menthol. Less deep and chewy than the examples from Corton-Charlemagne, with less sweetness of fruit and a light minty character. This is less impressive on the back end, where a saline nuance and some new oak give the finish a youthfully edgy quality. This may have suffered by being shown just after the very strong samples from Corton-Charlemagne.
