2006 and 2005 Red Burgundies (Mar 2008)

Deep red-ruby. Black cherry and licorice on the nose. Deeper and sappier than the village version, with chewy flavors of black cherry, chocolate and minerals and firm tannic structure. Solidly built, persistent wine with good mineral cut. Potel notes that his part of Santenots is on limestone-based soil while Dominique Lafon’s is richer in clay.
