2002 and 2001 Red Burgundies (Mar 2004)

Good full, bright red. Sweet aromas of candied griotte cherry, kirsch, and stone. Sweet, sappy and gripping, with excellent structure and strong mineral character contributing to the impression of inner-mouth energy. Vibrant red fruit flavors are lifted by herbal, peppery and floral nuances. Finishes with very firm tannins that call for five or six years of additional bottle aging.
