2006 and 2005 Red Burgundies (Mar 2008)

Good deep red. Black cherry, mocha, sassafras and game on the rather wild nose. Less sweet and open than the Chambolle villages but with very good chewy depth to the flavors of dark plum and chocolate. A bit tight and youthfully angular, and much less easy to taste today than the village wine. This needs a good four or five years of cellaring.
