Picture This: Domaine Henri Gouges 1945 – 2016 (Oct 2018)

The 2015 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru has a very perfumed, floral bouquet with scents of crushed flower and chalk permeating the red cherry and strawberry fruit. There is a little more horsepower here compared to the 2014 if not quite the same delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, tightening up in the middle to form a more sinewy, backward finish indicative of a vintage that is generally beginning to close up. Give this several years to really come around. Tasted at the Gouges retrospective at La Cabotte.
