1997 and 1996 Red Burgundies (Mar 1999)

Very good red-ruby. Precise aromas of black cherry, cassis, violet and venison. Sharply defined, intense berry flavors are lifted by a floral quality. Strong but integrated acidity can’t hide this wine’s terrific sweetness and depth of flavor. In comparison, the ’97 Combe aux Moines is a bit more diffuse, with a much easier structure.
