2016 & 2015 White Burgundy (Sep 2017)

Bright medium yellow. Deeper-pitched on the nose than the Maranges La Fussière, with yellow peach, pineapple and spicy oak flavors complicated by flowers and a hint of lichee. Conveys attractive sucrosité but also an element of minerality that gives it a lighter touch than the Fussière (Alexandre Bachelet told me that hydric stress in these vines preserved acidity in the grapes). Pear and peach flavors are a bit aggressive and edgy, with the slightly saline finish displaying a faint bitter edge. This should harmonize with another year or two in the bottle.
