1971 x 50 (Feb 2021)

The 1971 Gilette Crème de Tête has a slightly muffled nose at first, but clears with aeration to reveal scents of dried honey, pressed white flowers, augmented by a touch of curry powder and marmalade. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly viscous entry, nicely balanced with orange rind and spice. This is focused, with just the right amount of nuttiness to leave a dry taste that begs another sip. This is a fine 1971. Tasted at the château in June 2014.
