1995 and 1994 Bordeaux (May 1996)

1994 Lynch-Bates: Sappy cherry, earth and spice aromas, with sweet resiny oak and mineral notes. Sweet and supple in the mouth, particularly tasted next to the Pichon-Baron, but still a ’94 of only average ripeness. Strong cherry flavor in the mouth. Some menthol on the back end is reminiscent of California cabernet. Lacks real Pauillac grip. But the tannins are reasonably sweet.
