1996 and 1995 Red Burgundies (Mar 1998)

Deep red-ruby color. Flamboyant, expressive aromas of kirsch, black raspberry, toffee, mint and dried flowers. Black cherry and black raspberry fruit flavors show an almost liqueur-like sweetness. Seamless texture like liquid velvet. Fat but very intensely flavored; note of licorice gives the wine even more lift. Superb expanding aftertaste, with rich, thoroughly ripe tannins. Complete Burgundy.
