1997 and 1996 Red Burgundies (Mar 1999)

Very good deep red. Sappy, almost medicinal aromas of black cherry, dark berries and blood orange; primary and promising. Really urgent fruit in the mouth: juicy, penetrating and tightly structured, but with lovely ripeness and sweetness. Showing extremely well today; makes the Morey seem dry by comparison. A very consistent wine of almost grand cru dimension. Very old-viney.
