1998 and 1997 Red Burgundies (Mar 2000)

Full red-ruby. Aromas of plum syrup, currant, tar, smoke and underbrush; a bit more evolved than La Tache. Big but utterly silky in the mouth; boasts the velvety, seamless texture of the vintage’s best examples. Finishes very long, with lush tannins. Will this grand cru show more fruit complexity before it loses its freshness?
