2001 and 2000 Red Burgundies (Mar 2003)

(better pruning to reduce the vigor of these vines has resulted in smaller grapes in the past couple of harvests, Lachaux notes) Excellent red-ruby color. Expressive, Vosne-typical aromas of cassis, flowers and Oriental spices. Sweet and fat but nicely delineated, with lively spice and floral flavors carrying through in the mouth. Finishes juicy and firm, with the structure to age. Promises to be Lachaux’s best Chaumes to date.
