2002 and 2001 Red Burgundies (Mar 2004)

Good dark red. Sweet aromas of cherry, raspberry, leather and coffee, lifted by a minty nuance. Big, rich and sweet; broad and horizontal. Quite silky and aromatic in the mouth, with an enticing floral perfume. I find this more concentrated than the ’02 and seamless for its vintage. Has the richness that often comes from small, millerande grapes.
