2003 and 2002 Red Burgundies (Mar 2005)

Good full red. Pure, vibrant aromas of red fruits, minerals and spices; cool and aristocratic in the context of the vintage. Then more complex but less fruity in the mouth than the Bressandes, hinting at game, smoke, leather and spices. A bit soft for this, but then this was not acidified, according to Nicolay. Finishes very long, with perfectly buffered, ripe tannins and notes of licorice and minerals.
