2004 and 2003 Red Burgundies (Mar 2006)

(14% alcohol) Good deep red-ruby. Superripe aromas of black cherry, leather and smoked meat. A hugely sweet, mouthfilling but slightly reduced fruit bomb with excellent depth and good balance for the year. Comes across as less roasted than the Boudots. Finishes very long, with sweet tannins. Less approachable than I first thought, commented Meo, adding it may be around in 2050 but we won’t be there. This cuvee appears to be quite strong in 2004 too.
