2006 and 2005 Red Burgundies (Mar 2008)

(this is Potel’s second-richest 2006 in alcohol, weighing in at 14+%) Deep ruby-red. Very ripe aromas of strawberry and raspberry. Sweet and superripe, with a distinctly liqueur-like exotic aspect co-existing uneasily with strong acidity. This was just racked, which may explain its disjointed character. Plenty of flavor and acidity here. Hard to get a read on today.
