2006 and 2005 Red Burgundies (Mar 2008)

Deep red-ruby. Highly complex nose melds sappy blackberry, black raspberry, soy sauce, graphite, violet and game. Bright, juicy dark fruit and mineral flavors are further lifted by lovely inner-mouth floral perfume. There’s more volume here than in the Chambolle but also excellent framing acidity. Finishes with sweet tannins and excellent persistence. A superb vintage for this consistently strong village wine-from vines that are situated close to the topnotch premier crus Cros Parantoux and Brulees.
