2006 and 2005 Red Burgundies (Mar 2008)

Good deep red. Very ripe aromas of plum, smoke, mocha, pepper and brown spices; a distinctly warmer style than the young 2006 but no less Morey in character. Large-scaled, ripe and rich, with seamless flavors of plum and spice. Finishes with sweet tannins and excellent length. This microclimate, with soil featuring a high content of broken stones, is practically a clos, says Arlaud; as it’s sheltered from cold winds from the north, it normally gives perfect ripeness of fruit.
