2006 Brunello di Montalcino (Jul 2011)

Good deep red. Plum, black cherry, mocha, graphite and underbrush on the accessible nose. Broad, round, sweet and ripe; not especially high-pitched or vibrant but not stewy. This rather silky wine is plush and mouthfilling, even if it doesn’t convey the definition of the best examples. Finishes with a suggestion of oak.
